He is the FBI partner of Saga Anderson, where they both come to Bright Falls to investigate murders occurring within it and Watery. He takes a special interest in Alan Wake due to the writer's famous fictional character of the same name which unnervingly mirrors his own life. Alan also encounters an alternate version of Casey in the Dark Place, based on Alan's character from his novels.
