After watching Dragon Ball Super Broly and rewatching the first episode of Dragon Ball Kai, did Bardock's ability to see the future get retconned or did they just not show it?

I find it funny that there's so many people that complain about the writers retconning the original Bardock even though DBS's Bardock is literally the same, minus the psychic powers : r/Dragonballsuper
